....compared to the boat, which is 8.5 metres , he reckons it was about twice as long....
The whale swam at surface and even from a distance at no time did the tail come out....this is possibly a normal swimming posture as usually the humpback whale tail will even be more exposed even for normal breathing and in dive the tail will come right out of the water.
ADMIN: This is probably a Brydes Whale however the ridges on the rostrum are ill-defined and there is a small chance this is an Antarctic Minke or something else very special. Needs further checking with international experts. Image taken from video available.
